Another associate of the separatist leader, Amritpal Singh, has been arrested by the police in connection with the Ajnala violence case. The accused, identified as Varinder Singh from Johal Raju Singh Wala village, was a retired constable from the Indian Army and worked as a gunman for Amritpal Singh, who is the chief of Waris Punjab De. The police have cancelled Johal’s arm license and he has been sent to Dibrugarh jail in Assam following the invocation of the National Security Act (NSA). The Amritsar senior superintendent of police (SSP-rural), Satinder Singh, provided details about the arrest. Johal is also known by the pseudonym “Fauji”.
