Gwalior: Superintendent of Police Gwalior Mr. Rajesh Singh Chandel has directed the Gwalior Police to nab the miscreants involved in theft and loot incidents in the district. In compliance of the instructions, effective action is being taken by the station in-charge of the district to nab the miscreants who carried out the incidents of theft and loot. In the same sequence, on March 28, information was received about the incident of mangalsutra being looted from a woman in New Saket Nagar under police station area. Taking the incident seriously, Superintendent of Police Gwalior directed the Crime Branch and Police Station Padav team to nab the robber. The team of Crime Branch and Thana Padav police searched the accused with the help of CCTV footage of the area and by activating the informer system to nab the robber.
During the search of the accused, Superintendent of Police Gwalior received information from the informer that the miscreant who had looted mangalsutra from the neck of a woman under New Saket Nagar police station area was seen near Chandra Nagar drain. On information, Superintendent of Police Gwalior directed Additional Superintendent of Police Gwalior City (East/Crime) Mr. Rajesh Dandotia to form a team of Crime Branch and Thana Padav police to verify and apprehend the miscreant. Following the instructions of senior officers, the joint team under the guidance of CSP Lashkar/DSP Crime Mr. Shiaz K.M and City Superintendent of Police, Inderganj Mr. Vijay Singh Bhadauria, Station House Inspector Mr. Prashant Yadav and Station House Officer Crime Branch Inspector Mr. Amar Singh Sikarwar was sent to Chandra Nagar Nallah, the place mentioned by the informer. The police team reached the place told by the informer and laid siege and caught a suspicious person. On interrogating the apprehended suspect regarding the incident of mangalsutra robbery in New Saket Nagar, he accepted to have committed the incident of robbery. The caught robber told during interrogation that he is from Ravi Nagar district Gwalior. The mangalsutra worth Rs.20, 000 looted by him was recovered from his possession at the instance of the robber caught by the police team and arrested the accused.
The accused is being interrogated in connection with other incidents of robbery. It is to be known that on March 28, the complainant had filed a report by appearing in the police station that she was sitting outside her house in New Saket Nagar in the afternoon, when an unknown miscreant came near her and ran away by pulling a gold mangalsutra from her neck. On the report of the complainant, a case under the MPDPK Act was registered against the unknown accused at the police station and was taken into consideration.
