Gurugram: On Thursday, unidentified suspects broke into an authorized car dealer’s workshop located in Gurugram’s Sector 34 and stole a sum of ₹91,928 cash. The theft was discovered when a security guard noticed that the door lock to the cashier room had been broken at around 8:18 am.
The suspects gained entry by breaking open a small safety locker and then proceeded to drag an iron chest containing the cash at least 100 feet away from the spot before breaking it open. According to the police, the suspects may have gained entry through the wide ventilators.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the CCTV cameras were not functional during the time of the theft, as the main switch was being turned off every night. The police have registered an FIR against the unidentified suspects under Section 380 (theft from dwelling house) and Section 457 (lurking house trespass by night) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Gurugram Sadar police station on Thursday night.
The authorities are currently trying to trace the suspects at the earliest. The police have started their investigation and are questioning people to gather information that may help them identify the suspects. The incident has caused panic among the residents and the car dealer’s management, who are concerned about the safety of their assets. The authorities have assured them that they will do their best to catch the culprits and ensure that justice is served.
