Chengannur: It was 9.10 in the morning when intimation was received at Chengannur station that a young woman was being treated for bleeding from a private hospital and there was something unusual about it. The police immediately rushed to the hospital. When I asked the mother who was with the young woman, she replied that she was brought to the hospital because the bleeding did not stop after her daughter gave birth in the bathroom.
The mother said that she did not know that her daughter, who was estranged from her husband, was pregnant. To the question, “Where is the baby?”, It was shocking to hear the reply that the baby had died in childbirth and that the baby had been left in a bucket in the bathroom. Without wasting a second, the police rushed to the house. The police found the bleeding baby left in the bucket being found to be alive. The baby was rushed to the hospital. The baby is fine at Kottayam Medical College. Kudos to Chengannur SHO Police Inspector Vipin AC, Sub Inspectors Abhilash MC, Ajit Khan and Civil Police Officers Jijo P Sam and Harish for saving that child’s life.
