Kurnool: On Wednesday, Mr. G. Krishnakanth IPS assumed the position of the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Kurnool district. His arrival was greeted by police officials and AR personnel, who welcomed and honored him.
In his first public statement as the new SP, Mr. Krishnakanth expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police for providing him with the opportunity to serve the people of Kurnool. He also talked about his background, highlighting that he hails from SS Palle Village in Gutti Mandal, Anantapuram District. He completed his education up to the MSc Biotechnology level, with his BSc degree coming from CMI College in Anantapuram and his MSc degree from the National Dairy Research Institute in Haryana.
Mr. Krishnakanth was selected for the 2017 batch of civil services and joined the Andhra Pradesh cadre. After completing his training, he served as the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Chintoor for nine months in East Godavari district. He then served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Rampachodavaram for one year in Alluri Sita Ramaraju district. During his tenure, he worked in Maoist-affected areas, with a particular focus on preventing cannabis-related activities.
In his statement to the media, Mr. Krishnakanth assured the people of Kurnool district that he and his team would be available 24/7 to address their problems. He stressed that they would pay special attention to women’s safety, road safety, cybercrimes, and illegal activities. He also expressed his happiness at coming to Kurnool district as a resident of Rayalaseema.
Several officials were present at the event, including Seb Additional SP Mr. Krishna Kant Patel IPS Garu, Additional SP Admin Mr. D. Prasad, and Deputy Superintendents of Police Mr. Venkatadri, Mr. Venkataramaiah, Mr. Nagabhushanam, Mr. Yugandhar Babu, Mr. Vinod Kumar, Mr. KV Mahesh, and Mr. Ilyaz Bhasha, as well as the District Police Officer AO Mr. Suresh Babu and several Circle Inspectors (CIs).
Mr. Krishnakanth also appealed to the media for their support in his mission to serve the people of Kurnool district. He emphasized that their cooperation would be critical to achieving the goal of creating a safer and more secure community.
