In the continued effort to combat drug trafficking and usage, a significant victory has been achieved through the successful collaboration of multiple security, enforcement, and intelligence agencies.
Early this morning, at 1:30 AM, a joint operation was conducted at Falkland, Aizawl by the Special Narcotics Police Station and 2nd Assam Rifles.
This operation resulted in the seizure of 266 grams of heroin, equivalent to 22 soap cases, with an estimated value of Rs.133 lakhs in the international market. The narcotics were seized from Lalnuntluanga, a 32-year-old resident of Zonuam, Aizawl, who is the son of Lalṭhuamliana. Following this, a case has been registered under the ND & PS Act at the Special Narcotic Police Station to determine possible forward and backward linkages.
