Dehradun: The Dehradun Police launched a special campaign on April 22 and 23, 2023, to take effective action against individuals who create a ruckus, nuisance, or disturbance of public peace. The campaign aimed to curb disruptive behavior by individuals who engage in hooliganism, create a disturbance, or violate public order.
During the operation, the police teams apprehended three individuals from Maldevta and two from Raipur for causing chaos in public spaces while under the influence of alcohol. The law enforcement personnel conducted the operations at various locations, including Maldevta, Maharana Pratap Stadium, Balawala, Ring Road, and Mayur Vihar.
In addition to the arrests, the police teams issued challans and imposed fines of Rs 13,000/- on 52 people for indulging in public drinking. The campaign aimed to curb such practices, which are detrimental to the environment and create a disturbance in public spaces.
