Earlier, three youths were arrested from Mahisakhala and one from Kedarpalli in connection with the case. The attack happened when around 20 youths allegedly assaulted the undergraduate students, who were all inmates of the BR Ambedkar hostel of the college, following an altercation over playing cricket on the college playground last Saturday. As a result of the attack, one student sustained head injuries, while two others were stabbed in their hands.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. Such incidents of violence against students are unacceptable and must be dealt with strictly. The authorities must take measures to ensure the safety and security of the students on campus.
