Khawzawl: Late last night, a commendable act of vigilance and diligence was demonstrated by Constable Rohmingliana, who is a member of the 2nd IR Battalion stationed at the main gate in Khawzawl. During his routine duty, he intercepted three vehicles suspected of carrying dry areca nuts and immediately notified Mr. Khawzaw IPS. Upon receiving the information, the Police Station team acted swiftly and arrived at the scene. Upon inspection of the vehicles, they discovered a total of 190 bags of dry areca nuts, weighing approximately 15,000 kilograms. The three vehicles were driven by Lalhruaithara (28) of Zote, Champhai District (30 bags), Lalzarliana (29) of Tlangsam (80 bags), and Lalhmingtluanga of Tlangsam (80 bags).
The seizure of these illegal goods is a significant step towards preventing the spread of illegal trade in the region.
