Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has made minor changes in the posting of two senior IPS officers in a recent reshuffle. As per an official notification issued by the Home Department on Saturday, Mr. Arun Kumar Ray, who previously held the position of Special Director General of Police (Communication), has been transferred to the post of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Department. Similarly, Mr. SM Narvane, who served as Special Director General of Police (Human Rights Protection Cell), has also been transferred and appointed as OSD in the Home Department.
The reshuffle is expected to bring in new perspectives and ideas to the Home Department, as the officers have served in diverse roles throughout their careers. The new roles for Mr. Ray and Mr. Narvane are also expected to contribute towards strengthening the administrative and policing structures in the state.
It is worth noting that the state government has been taking various measures to improve law and order in Odisha, and the reshuffle of senior IPS officers is seen as a step towards achieving this goal. By deploying experienced and capable officers in key positions, the government aims to enhance the effectiveness of the police force and maintain the safety and security of the citizens.
