Palakkad: In a significant operation by the Palakkad Kasaba Police and the District Anti-Narcotics Squad, two foreign workers, Manu Das Panaka and Murali Majee, were arrested in Chandranagar, Palakkad for their involvement in smuggling 12.720 kg of ganja from Odisha to Kerala for sale.
The accused had brought the illegal substance to the state from Odisha, and the police had seized it during an inspection. The police officers, led by District Police Chief Mr. R. Vishwanath IPS, Palakkad MSP Mr. Shahul Hameed IPS, Narcotics Cell DYSP Mr. R. Manoj Kumar, and Palakkad Kasaba sub-inspectors Mr. Rajesh, Devan, and Mr. Ramesh, along with senior civil police officers Mr. Sivanandan, Mr. Ashokan, Mr. Martin, and home guard Mr. Haridas, as well as S.I. District Anti-Narcotics Squad members Mr. Jaleel S and ASI Mr. Sunil Kumar and SSB officer Mr. Sahad, conducted a thorough search and arrested the accused and seized the ganja.
The accused have stated that they had brought the ganja from Odisha and were working in Malappuram. The police are now intensifying their investigation into the source of the ganja and are taking all necessary measures to ensure that the culprits involved in the illegal drug trade are brought to justice.
