Rachakonda: On May 4th, 2023, the CCS (Central Crime Station) team of LB. Nagar, in collaboration with the Bhongir Rural Police of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, apprehended three individuals involved in the theft of transformer copper coils. The arrest took place at Raigiri X Road of Bhongir Rural Police Station limits, where the suspects were driving a TATA Indica car.
Upon questioning, the suspects revealed their names and confessed to committing several property offenses, including theft under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code. The suspects’ names are Sahadev Hajira, Abhimanyu Raj Bar, and Nandulal Rajbar. The team is still searching for two additional suspects, Rahul Rajbar and Ramchandar, who remain at large. There were also two “receivers” of the stolen goods, Kuruva Chinna Narsimhulu and Uttal Mahesh, who have not yet been apprehended.
The suspects are all residents of Madhuban Colony, Katedan, Rajendranagar, Ranga Reddy district, and hail from different states across India. Sahadev Hajira is from Betagadia, Baliapal, Baleshwar District, Odisha; Abhimanyu Raj Bar is from Chennai (V), Biladiyaguni (M), Azamgarh District, Uttar Pradesh; and Nandulal Rajbar is from Thasba (V), Mubarakpur (PO), Azamgarh District, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the suspects, they were addicted to bad habits and needed more money to sustain their lavish lifestyle. To meet their expenses, they conspired to steal transformer copper and wire, which they later sold to Kuruva Chinna Narsimhulu and Uttal Mahesh, who acted as receivers of the stolen goods. With the money earned from the theft, the suspects purchased a TATA Indica car and a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle. They also kept Rs.1,00,000 in cash for their further luxury expenses.
In total, the suspects confessed to 34 cases of transformer copper coil theft in the Rachakonda and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates. The stolen copper coils and wires weighed around 60 kgs, and the suspects used tools during the commission of the offenses. The police seized the stolen copper coils, one TATA Indica car, one Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle, four mobile phones, and the tools used by the suspects.
The arrest was made under the direct supervision of Mr. D S Chauhan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and under the guidance of DCP Crimes and Addl. DCP Crimes-1, with the CCS LB Nagar Inspectors Mr. N. Yadaiah, Mr. Y. Ravinder, Sls: Mr. N. Jayaram, Mr. PM Krishna Rao, ASI: Mr. T.Yadi Reddy, and HCs: Mr. K. Sridhar Babu & Mr. A. Anand Kumar, and PC Eshwaraiah. The CCS team displayed professionalism and dedication in apprehending the accused persons.
