NTR: On May 6, 2023, NTR District Police Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata IPS organized an interactive meeting at Hotel Lemon Tree Premier located under Surya Rao Peta Police Station in order to discuss important laws related to criminal justice system with local police officers and prominent lawyers from the city.
The meeting covered several crucial topics related to criminal justice laws, including Women Acts, Cyber Crime, Chit Funds & Depository Acts, arrest procedures, conviction of criminals, and justice for victims. The objective of the meeting was to emphasize the importance of these laws and to discuss how they can be more strictly implemented in order to deter and punish criminal activities in the region.
In his address to the attendees, Mr. Kanti Rana Tata IPS emphasized the crucial role played by the criminal justice system in protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens while punishing the guilty. He also stressed the significance of the latest laws related to crimes such as cybercrime, women’s safety, and chit fund fraud, and explained the role of police officers and lawyers in ensuring that these laws are enforced effectively.
The meeting was attended by a number of prominent legal professionals, including Additional Director of Prosecution Andhra Pradesh Mr. Tyra Ramakoteswara Rao, President of The Bejawada Bar Association Kechi Sundar, and eminent advocates such as Dittakavi Ramachand, Bandla Sambasivarao, Somu Krishnamurthy, and Chodishetti Manmadha Rao. The discussions covered various aspects related to the Women’s Act, Cyber Crime Act, Chit Funds & Depository Act, and the arrest procedures outlined in Section 41-A of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Overall, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity for police officers and lawyers to exchange insights and experiences, and to discuss ways in which the criminal justice system can be improved to better serve the interests of the people of NTR district.
