West Jaintia Hills: On the 19th of May, 2023, an important event took place in the West Jaintia Hills district, organized by the Office of the Superintendent of Police. The purpose of this event was to hold a VDP (Village Defense Party) rally, which aimed to bring together and honor the VDPs of the district.
Distinguished guests attended the rally, including Shri B.S. Sohliya IAS, the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills, who graced the occasion as the esteemed chief guest. The event also welcomed Mr. C.Syrti, MPS Superintendent of Police WJH, Mr. V.D. S. Rymbai, MPS, ASP West Jaintia Hills(WJH), and Mr.G.L Marshillong MPS, SDPO Amlarem, who all played vital roles in the law enforcement of the district.
In addition to the presence of these notable individuals, the rally was attended by the Circle Officer of VDP, the Officer In-charge of the Police Stations, the In-charge of the Police Outpost/beat house, as well as representatives of VDP from various areas of the district. The collective attendance of around 400 people added a sense of community and unity to the event.
To further enhance the atmosphere, the organizers had arranged for the captivating performances of the Meghalaya Police Cultural Troupe. Their entertaining acts brought joy and energy to the rally, providing a pleasant diversion from the formal proceedings.
Overall, the VDP rally organized by the Office of the Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills, proved to be a significant and well-attended event, demonstrating the commitment and support of the community towards the Village Defense Party.
