GUWAHATI: Guahati Police said the search for the prime accused Subodh Biswas, president of Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samanway Samitee (NIBBUSS) and the main accused in the Silapathar incident is on. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal gave orders to arrest Biswas at the earliest. An official release said Mr. Mukesh Sahay, Director General of Police, DGP, informed the Chief Minister about the clues found during investigation which would be helpful in arresting Biswas. He also informed that Nagpur and Kolkata police were alerted about Biswas. The release said, it was decided in the review meeting that Bijan Mahajan would be appointed as the Special Public Prosecutor in the Silapathar case. 37 other accused named in the FIR and found involved in the incident during investigation were arrested. The DGP informed CM Mr. Sonowal that Mr. Mukesh Agarwal, Additional Director General of Police, ADGP, (Law and Order) has been camping in Silapathar since March 7, a day after the incident, and would be there to carry on the investigation. A reward of Rs one lakh to anyone would be awarded to persons giving any information leading to the arrest of Biswas, the DGP had announced last week. ]]>
