Madurai: In the city of Madurai, a man named Ramasamy (43), who hails from Madurai Coimbatore Sulur taluk, encountered an individual named Kunalan, introduced to him as a friend by Raja, residing in Villapuram Velupillai Street. This encounter took place under the pretext of friendship, but Kunalan had ulterior motives. He enticed Ramasamy with the promise of securing a lucrative job opportunity overseas. Eager to pursue better prospects, Ramasamy entrusted Kunalan with a considerable sum of money amounting to Rs. 4,95,000 approximately one year ago.
To ensure the safety of his funds, Ramasamy made the decision to keep the money at Raja’s residence in Villapuram, where Venkatesan happened to be present during the transaction. However, despite Ramasamy’s hopeful anticipation, the promised job never materialized. Consequently, Ramasamy confronted Kunalan, seeking answers and the return of his hard-earned money.
In a partial display of remorse, Kunalan returned Rs. 2 lakh and fifty thousand to Ramasamy as a gesture of reparation. Unfortunately, Kunalan deceitfully held onto the remaining amount of Rs. 2 lakh and 45 thousand, refusing to make amends for the full extent of his fraudulent actions. Left with no recourse, Ramasamy lodged a formal complaint with the Avaniyapuram police, who have taken swift action by registering a case against both Raja and Venkatesan, the accomplices involved in the scam.
As justice begins to unfold, the diligent law enforcement officers are currently engaged in a comprehensive investigation to unravel the intricate details of the fraudulent scheme and ensure that the culprits face the appropriate legal consequences for their deceitful acts.
