Tirupati: The diligent efforts of the Andhra Pradesh Police have led to the apprehension of a notorious gang involved in the smuggling of Interstate Red Sanders. Acting upon reliable and actionable intelligence pertaining to suspicious movements of vehicles, the dedicated police officers from Bhakarapet Police Station swiftly executed a successful operation. As a result, they managed to apprehend all nine members of the notorious gang at Yallamanda Cross, Yarravaripalem (M), effectively putting an end to their illicit activities.
During the operation, a substantial seizure was made, highlighting the scale of the criminal operation. The authorities recovered a total of 33 Red Sander logs, estimated to be worth a staggering 2 crore rupees. This valuable haul represents the illegal trafficking of these endangered species, a crime that threatens the ecological balance and poses a significant risk to our natural heritage.
In addition to the confiscated logs, the police also seized several vehicles from the possession of the arrested individuals. These included three Innova cars, one Hyundai car, one Bolero pick-up vehicle, and a motorcycle. These vehicles were likely used by the gang members to facilitate their smuggling operations, allowing them to transport the illicit goods across state lines undetected.
