Kozhikode: In the morning, auto drivers in Kozhikode noticed a young foreigner disembarking from a bus with a disabled infant, approximately a month old. Concerned for the child’s well-being, the auto drivers promptly informed the women’s helpline. Civil police officers Soni and Shruti, who were on duty at the helpline, quickly responded to the situation and approached the young man for an explanation,.
Upon inquiry, they discovered that the young man, originally from Bengal, had come to visit his sister residing in Ullieri, Kozhikode, along with the abandoned child, as his wife had left the baby and departed with someone else. Recognizing that the baby seemed fatigued from the long journey, they immediately arranged for the child’s transfer to Kottaparamp Hospital.
The officials diligently looked after the child until the youth’s relatives arrived. Once the relatives reached the hospital, the child was discharged and safely handed over to them.
