Kasaragod: In the scenic town of Kasaragod, specifically in the Meluduk area of Hozdurg station, a significant drug-related incident unfolded on a fateful day. On the 18th of July 2023, the diligent officers of the Hozdurg police force carried out a routine vehicle inspection that turned into a pivotal moment in their ongoing battle against narcotics.
During this inspection, their keen eyes fell upon a man named Manoj Thomas, a 43-year-old native of Matikai, who was traveling in his car. However, what initially seemed like just another inspection swiftly transformed into a major breakthrough for law enforcement. The officers discovered that Manoj was in possession of a staggering 1.360 kg of ganja, a controlled substance and a bane to society.
Acting swiftly and professionally, a well-coordinated team comprising Hozdurg SIKP Sathish and several capable civil police officers, namely Mr. Saneesh, Mr. Rajeesh, Mr. Jyotish, Mr. Manu, Mr. Sanjith, and Mr. Pranav, secured the evidence and took Manoj into custody without incident.
The operation that led to this arrest was no ordinary undertaking. It was part of the second phase of “Operation Clean Kasaragod,” a strategic initiative masterminded by none other than the distinguished Kasaragod District Police Chief, Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS. Under his leadership, the police department had intensified efforts to combat the drug menace that had infiltrated the peaceful region of Kasaragod.
