Alappuzha: The police apprehended a three-member gang involved in stealing from places of worship and small shops. Among the arrested individuals was Shyam (37), the son of Shivdasan, residing at Kottoor Vadakkatil, Pathiyur room, Pathiyur village, Kotankara village, Kollam taluk, Mampuzha area, Mampuzha area, Shyam Nivas house, Preeti Vilasam house, Krishnapuram room, Krishnapuram room, Anchalummudu panchayat, Kollam district, Preeti Vilasam house. Additionally, the Kayamkulam police apprehended Ashokan (40), the son of Soman Pillai, and Anilkumar (42), the son of Sivasankaran, who resides in Malavi Poikail near Malamel temple in Mananak village of Chirayinkeez taluk in Thiruvananthapuram district. The suspects were found with a bag containing a battery, charger, cigarette, and lottery ticket during night patrolling on a motorcycle with registration number KL-01-AZ – 8831. Upon interrogation, the stolen goods worth Rs. 6000/-, including items taken from Vijayan’s shop at Nadakavu room in Peringala village, were recovered from the gang. Moreover, they were found to have stolen goods worth Rs. 25000/-, including idols, lamps, monta, and talams, from a pooja room in a house at Trauvikkal Kutti in Katachira room in Bharanikav village. The apprehended individuals will be taken into police custody for further investigation to determine if they have been involved in additional thefts.
