Palakkad: Two individuals from Bihar, identified as Roop Lal Kumar (30) and Prabhu Kumar (28) and native to Bihar Araira Bhattiari, have been apprehended by Kuzhalmandam police for attempting to deceive a housewife by posing as gold polishers. In an incident that occurred yesterday at approximately two o’clock in the afternoon, the duo visited Kuzhalmandam Perungunnam Kothot, where they purchased two pavans of gold.
They proceeded to immerse the gold in a chemical solution, claiming it would enhance its shine for the homeowner. Once the gold changed color and the deception was recognized, the housewife promptly contacted the police. Law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene, arresting the culprits. The Palakkad First Class Judicial Court has remanded the suspects for a 15-day period. Further investigation by the police has revealed that the arrested individuals are also linked to a similar fraudulent incident previously reported within the jurisdiction of Kollangode police station.
