Bengaluru : Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda interacted with netizens on social networking site Twitter in order to connect with the people of the capital city of Bangalore. The police commissioner’s tweet was widely appreciated.
During the conversation, there was a discussion on many issues including law and order, crime, traffic, administration, problems of roads, traffic of vehicles, use of technology in Bengaluru city.
People asked questions to the city police commissioner through the hashtag #AMWITHBCP, many of which were answered by B Dayanand himself. The conversation was held on Saturday from 12 noon to one hour. On this occasion, the Commissioner drew the attention of the people of the city by answering the questions of the public.
Responding to a question about the increasing number of road rage incidents in the city during the interaction, the commissioner said, : We are dealing with road rage incidents very strictly. He said that currently there is zero tolerance for road rage incidents in Bengaluru city.
Wherever such incidents were reported, the police tracked down the accused and arrested them. Also, a rowdy sheet is being opened in the concerned police stations to keep a watch on such hooligans. Police stations have been advised to maintain rowdy sheets to keep track of hooligans under their jurisdiction. Moral policing is not allowed in any law. An NGO called Mahila Saha Vani should be approached for help in cases of domestic violence. He said that there are enough women staff available to help people in such situations.
Talking about the issue of footpath encroachment, a special operation is being conducted with the civic bodies to clear the encroachments. He said that a permanent solution will be provided keeping in mind the interests of the public.
