Hyderabad City: City Police Commissioner Mr. CV Anand IPS adorned the statue of Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy during the celebration of his 154th birth anniversary. The event was organized by the Raja Bahadur Venkat Ramreddy Educational Society at YMCA ‘X’ Road, Narayanaguda. Mr. CV Anand, IPS, the Commissioner of Police for Hyderabad, graced the occasion as the chief guest and praised the pioneering contributions of Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy, who served as the 14th Kotwal during the Nizam era.
Mr. Anand highlighted that Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy assumed the position of Kotwal in 1920. Throughout his commendable 14-year tenure, he dedicatedly worked on eradicating various prevailing social issues and effectively managed both civic and policing responsibilities. Additionally, he established educational institutions to empower girls, leaving a profound impact on society. The City Police Chief also commended his visionary role in shaping the City Police Act of 1938.
Underlining the enduring value of the educational institutions founded by Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy, Mr. Anand shared that his own family benefited from these institutions. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from the life of Raja Bahadur Venkata Ram Reddy and strive for success through diligent effort.
During the event, Mr. Anand praised the institution’s executive body and awarded Gold medals and a cash prize of Rs 5000 each to Mr. Raghavendra, Inspector of the IT cell in Hyderabad City, and Mr. K. Ravinder, Inspector of the Social Media Cell in Cyberabad, acknowledging their exceptional performances in recent times.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Mr. KodandaLaxmikanth Reddy, President; Mr. Venkat Rangareddy (newly elected); Mr. Matta Reddy, Damodar Reddy, Vice-Presidents; Mohan Reddy, Treasurer; and Praveen Reddy, Joint Secretary, along with City Police Officers and others.
