HYDERABAD: Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police in Telangana arrested a young woman on Monday as she had been allegedly recording nude pictures and videos of her hostel mates and sharing it with her Managing Director in which she was working. Telangana Police said, the incident came to light after complainant Sandhya (name changed) working as an executive in a pharmaceutical company lodged a Police complaint against her roommate Sravani, (name changed) a native of Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district. According to Police, Sandhya said in her complaint said suspicion arose in her mind when Sravani was behaving differently while holding a mobile phone and moving it towards her and the camera of the phone pointing towards her continuously while changing her clothes. Sandhya later shared her suspicion with another roommate and they checked Sravani’s mobile. Sandhya and her friend were shocked to see nude and semi-nude pictures and videos of Sandhya in Sravani’s mobile phone. That Sravani was sharing all the pictures and videos with her boss who is the managing director of a consultancy also came to light. The two women also found videos of some other inmates on Sravani’s laptop. Sravani was acting at the behest of her boss and was sending pictures and videos of her roommates, Preliminary probe by the Police revealed. Police booked a case against the accused under Sections 509, 354 C, 417 and 419 of IPC and 66 C, 67 and 57 A of IT Act, based on the complaint lodged by the victim. Mr S Jayaram, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad cyber crime, said, “A fake Facebook profile was opened by Sravani using the pictures of her another hostel mate. Both the boss and Sravani were taken into custody and will be produced in the court on Tuesday”. The ACP said that the motive of their activity was not yet clear. ]]>
