Hyderabad: Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, Mr. C.V. Anand, IPS, inaugurated 1000 newly acquired Manpacks at the Traffic Complex in Nampally, Hyderabad on September 15, 2023. Speaking at the event, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic Hyderabad, Mr. G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, highlighted that the Hyderabad City Police has elevated its technological capabilities by procuring these advanced communication sets. This procurement of 1000 communication sets at once is a first in India for any Commissionerate or State. He further emphasized the benefits of these new sets, including compatibility with existing MTX 960 Handheld sets, adaptability to future APCO 25 P-II Trunking system after the up-gradation of the current APCO16 Trunking system, dual microphones for noise suppression, enhanced audio quality, scanning capabilities, extended battery life, and light weight (2800 MAh Li-ion Battery). Other features such as announcement talk group facility, text messaging, integrated GPS, and optional FIPS 140-2 Level 3 AES certified hardware encryption for secure communications will be available after the Trunking system upgrade.
Mr. C.V. Anand, IPS., CP Hyderabad, acknowledged the diligent efforts of Addl. CP Traffic in procuring these Manpack sets, including negotiations with Motorola and obtaining approval from the Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) wing of Delhi. He disclosed a budget of Rs.10 Crore for the purchase of these Manpack Sets and assured the completion of the communication system upgrade for enhanced and efficient communication in Hyderabad City. CP Hyderabad commended the Hyderabad Traffic Police for their dedication to Operation ROPE and other facets of traffic management in the city, promising continued support for the welfare of Traffic Police Staff and provision of advanced equipment in the future.
