Raipur: On the evening of October 10, 2023, at approximately 10:00 pm, a group of seven minor children, riding on a motorcycle with registration number CG 04 NN 9122, were observed engaging in dangerous stunts and disregarding traffic regulations. A video capturing their behavior circulated widely on social media. Following an investigation that led to the identification of the driver and their companions, they were apprehended and taken to the Saraswati Nagar police station. The families of these minors were informed about safety measures, and a case was filed against the owner of the vehicle at the same police station.
The charges include violating Section 3/181 of the Motor Vehicle Act for driving without a license, 4/181 for allowing a person under 18 years to drive, 5/180 for breaching 3.4 by the vehicle owner, Section 184 for reckless driving, Section 194 (c) for neglecting safety measures for rear passengers, and Section 199 (a) for the guardian or vehicle owner found guilty of violation. To seek the highest penalty for the vehicle owner, an Istgasha was prepared and submitted separately to the Honorable Court, where a fine of approximately Rs.25,000/- and a potential imprisonment of up to three years may be imposed.
