Madurai: In the city of Madurai, Rajkumar and Anand Prabhu, individuals who had attracted the attention of law enforcement due to their alleged involvement in murder cases, were taken into custody on the 18th of October, 2023. This apprehension was made pursuant to the directive of the Madurai Municipal Police Commissioner, invoking the “Goondas” Prevention Act, with the primary aim of preserving public order.
Following their detainment, both individuals were subsequently transferred to the secure confines of the Madurai Central Jail, where they currently remain confined as the legal proceedings unfold. This significant step was taken to ensure that potential threats to public safety and order were duly addressed, in accordance with the prevailing legal framework and the imperatives of maintaining a secure and peaceful community environment.
