Rachakonda: On the 19th of October 2023, acting on credible information, the Special Operations Team of Malkajgiri Zone, in collaboration with Keesara Police, apprehended three individuals involved in the transportation of contraband ganja from Odisha to Old City Hyderabad for illicit gains. A substantial haul of 430 kilograms of dry ganja, an Ashok Leyland Dost vehicle, and four mobile phones, totaling approximately Rs.1,11,00,000, were seized. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Keesara Police Station in the Rachakonda Commissionerate.

Mohan Rathod, son of Pandri Rathod, 25 years old, occupation: Farmer, Address: Ghama Thanda Jamgi village, Bidar (M), Karnataka State. (Peddler) (Previously involved in an NDPS case in Maharashtra State).
Pedda Babu Rao, son of P Purushottam, 30 years old, occupation: Auto driver & Owner, Address: H no. 5-4-65, Narsimha nagar colony, Mallapur, Nacharam, Hyderabad. (Driver)
Maddela Ramesh, son of M Sathaiah, 27 years old, occupation: Ola & Rapido bike rider, Address: Hno. 12-14-347, Vinoba nagar Lalapet near Church, Lalapet, Secunderabad, Hyderabad. (Helper)
Bahulya Leelavathi, also known as Ganga Raju Bheem Rao, Address: Vallepur Village, Border Thanda, Bidar (M), Karnataka State. (Main Organizer). (Not available for Examination).

BRIEF FACTS:
The accused, including Bahulya Leelavathi @ Ganga Raju Bheem Rao, Gopal @ Mul Chand Yadav, Santhosh, and Mohan Rathod, had established connections with Pedda Babu Rao, Maddela Ramesh, and Bahulya Leelavathi @ Ganga Raju Bheem Rao, who were suppliers of ganja from Odisha State. They collaborated to transport ganja from Odisha to Old City, Hyderabad.
Following their plan, they visited Odisha, met with the dry ganja suppliers, and purchased 430 kgs of dry ganja. Subsequently, they concealed the ganja packets in 08 iron pillar boxes, sealing them with bolts and welding.
Bahulya Leelavathi Ganga Raju Bheem Rao enlisted the services of Babu Rao to transport the ganja-filled boxes to Hyderabad. Babu Rao traveled to Odisha in his goods carrier accompanied by his friend Maddela Ramesh. They loaded the ganja-filled iron pillar boxes into the auto and returned to Hyderabad with Mohan Rathod. The other three individuals piloted in a separate vehicle.
On the early morning of 19.10.2023, the SOT Malkajgiri Team, alongside Keesara Police, intercepted the Ashok Leyland Dost Goods Carrier and apprehended the accused Mohan Rathod, Pedda Babu Rao, and Meddela Ramesh. The remaining accused persons Bahulya Leelavathi Ganga Raju Bheem Rao, Gopal, and Santosh fled the scene in the pilot vehicle.
These arrests were made under the direct supervision of Sri. D S Chauhan, IPS., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and under the guidance of Mrs. D. Janaki, IPS., DCP, Malkajgiri Zone, Mr. R. Giridhar, IPS, DCP, SOT-I, Mr. S. Suryanarayana, Addi DCP. SOT-I, Mr. N. Vasu, ACP, SOT-1, by Mr. A. Ramulu, Inspector of Police, SOT, Malkajgiri Zone, Mr. A. Venkataiah, Inspector of Police, Keesara PS, and Sub-Inspectors Mr. P. Vasudev, Mr. B. Parameshwar, Mr. G. Raghu Ramudu, and Police Personnel of SOT, Malkajgiri Zone, and Keesara Police Station of Rachakonda.
