Alappuzha: After evading arrest for 24 years, a woman from Ptikittapulli Cheriyanad Kadakkad Muri Kavalakkal North has been apprehended. This relates to a case filed at Venmani Police Station in 1999, where the accused and her husband assaulted his first wife. The accused, who had been granted bail, failed to appear in court, eventually going into hiding with her husband in Thiruvananthapuram’s Venjaramoodu area. She later separated from her husband and assumed the name Radhika Krishnan, as per a gazette notification. She resided in Srikariyam, Pothankot, and Bangalore within Thiruvananthapuram. The accused repeatedly skipped court appearances, leading to a warrant being issued, and in 2008, she was declared an absconder. Following extensive efforts, Venmani police finally obtained information about her location. Under the guidance of Chengannur DYSP MK Binukumar, acting on the instructions of Alappuzha District Police Chief Ms. Chaitra Teresa John, a specialized team was assembled to investigate and arrest the suspect. They apprehended her at her residence in Kollakadav, Bangalore, concluding a prolonged pursuit. The arrest was carried out by Venmani ISHO A Naseer, Sr. CPO Sridevi, Rahim, Abhilash, and CPO Jayaraj.
