Malappuram: Perinthalmanna police have taken Jayachandran, a native of Kattumannarkovil in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, into custody in connection with the attempted murder of a Tamil Nadu woman. The incident unfolded in a rented residence in Pathaikkara, where Jayachandran allegedly attacked the woman by slitting her throat. His arrest took place in Kannur after a series of events that saw him leaving his wife, inflicting harm on himself by slitting his own throat, locking up his residence, and going into hiding.
The arrest followed a meticulous operation by the authorities, as Jayachandran’s actions sparked concern for the safety of both the targeted woman and himself. Notably, he was located in Kannur, underscoring the cross-district nature of the pursuit.
