Madurai: The Madurai Armed Forces Athletics Club celebrated the achievement of one of its students who excelled in a national competition. South Zone Police Chief Mr. K.S. Narendran Nair IPS, Deputy Chief of Madurai Saraga Police Mrs. Ramya Bharti IPS, and Sivaprasad IPS commended the performance. The National Youth Athletics Tournament for 18-year-olds took place in Coimbatore from November 7th to 10th. Ms. O. Pamila Varsini, a college student trained at the Armed Reserve Athletic Club under Chief Constable Chanduru in the Madurai District Police Department, participated in the event. She earned a silver medal in the women’s triple jump, bringing pride to both her coaching club and the Madurai district. The felicitation ceremony was attended by South Zone Police Chief Mr. K.S. Narendran Nair IPS, Ms. Ramya Bharti IPS, and Madurai District Superintendent of Police Mr. Sivaprasad IPS, who honored both the student and coach Chanduru. It is noteworthy that the accomplished student’s mother, Mahadevi, serves as an Assistant Inspector in the Madurai Police.
