Dakshin Dinajpur: Acting on credible intelligence, the West Bengal Special Task Force (WBSTF) effectively thwarted an intricate interstate drug smuggling racket. The operation unfolded near the Jamuna Petrol Pump in the jurisdiction of Gangarampur Police Station, situated in the Dakshin Dinajpur District. Six suspects were apprehended in a timely manner as they were in the process of transferring cartons of Phensedyl from larger 12-wheeler vehicles to smaller pickup vans.
The enforcement team executed a meticulous operation, seizing a substantial quantity of 30,300 bottles of Phensedyl with an estimated market value of Rs. 2 crores. In addition to the significant pharmaceutical confiscation, three vehicles were also impounded during the operation. The bust underscores the diligent efforts of law enforcement in curbing the illicit drug trade and maintaining public safety in the region.
