Thiruvarur: In Thiruvarur district in 2023, a public auction will be conducted for 118 vehicles (11 four-wheelers, 107 two-wheelers) seized in criminal cases under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1979, and Prohibition and Prohibition Acts. The auction, aimed at generating government revenue, is scheduled to take place at Tiruvarur District Armed Forces Ground on Thursday (21.12.2023) at 10:00 AM. The event will be overseen by the Tiruvarur District Superintendent of Police, Tiruvarur Additional Superintendent of Police (Head Office), Thanjavur Government Automation Workshop Engineer, and Tiruvarur Assistant Commissioner (Excise), led by District Collector Tiruvarur.
Priority will be given to the owners of the vehicles in the auction. In the absence of bids from vehicle owners, a public auction will proceed. Participants in the auction are required to make an advance payment of Rs. 1000/- along with their Aadhaar Card or Voter ID Card and Driving License in person on Thursday (21.12.2023) at 10:00 AM. The advance payment made for participation will be refunded after the auction. Prospective bidders can inspect the auctioned vehicles in advance at Tiruvarur District Armed Forces and make their selections. Thiruvarur District Superintendent of Police, Mr. S. Jayakumar, M.Sc.,(Agri.), encourages the public to participate in the auction, emphasizing the opportunity to acquire high-value vehicles.
