Kallakurichi: In the Kallakurichi district, Siva (33), son of Chemmalai from Bhilrampattu village in the Kandachipuram district of Villupuram, was found murdered on the road from Tirukovilur to Chandapet on December 28, 2023. The Thirukovilur police station registered a murder case based on a complaint indicating that the victim had been fatally injured. District Superintendent of Police, Mr. Samay Singh Meena E.K.P., along with Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Manoj Kumar, and District Inspector, Mr. Balaji, swiftly directed the arrest of the suspects at the crime scene.
The investigation revealed that Paranitharan (29), son of Shekhar from Theppakulatheru, Tirukovilur, the last person known to have spoken to the deceased Siva, was involved. The inquiry linked Regan @ Santhosh Kumar (23), son of Raguraman from Puliantop, Chennai, Naveen (20), son of Saravanan, and Jeganathan (29), son of Etummalai from Deviagaram village, Thirukovilur, in a monetary dispute. It became evident that Siva was brutally attacked by his acquaintances, leading to the prompt arrest of the four individuals, who were subsequently placed in judicial custody. The two vehicles used during the murder were also confiscated. The District Superintendent of Police commended the officers for their swift actions in apprehending the suspects.
