Hyderabad: On January 11, 2024, Mr. K. Sreenivasa Reddy, IPS., Commissioner of Police for Hyderabad City, inaugurated various stalls alongside Vikram Singh Mann, IPS., Additional Commissioner of Police for Law and Order, Mr. P. Viswaprasad, IPS., Additional Commissioner of Police for Traffic, Hyderabad, and Mr. A.V. Ranganath, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police for Crimes & SIT. The purpose was to raise awareness among citizens about traffic safety, women’s safety, and the adverse effects of drug abuse.
During the event, the Commissioner highlighted the historical significance of the exhibition, drawing attention to the large number of attendees from the city and beyond. He emphasized that the police stalls provided an opportunity for citizens to gain insights into the state-of-the-art technology employed by the Hyderabad City Police in traffic management and other services. The traffic stall showcased various technological devices used for traffic management, education, and enforcement, including Road Safety Signs, Laser Speed Guns, Body Worn Cameras, ITMS Cameras, Communication Sets, Road Safety Equipment, and other devices.
The Commissioner encouraged the public to visit the exhibition, especially parents with their children, to not only become aware of the Hyderabad City Police’s operations but also to educate children about traffic safety rules. He stressed the importance of instilling road sense in children from an early age. The Commissioner expressed appreciation for the efforts of traffic and other officers, as well as Exhibition Society members, in setting up the stalls.
The event was attended by Mr. Subba Rayudu, IPS., DCP Traffic-I, Mr. Sharat Chandra Pawar, IPS, DCP Central Zone, Mr. N. Ashok Kumar, DCP Traffic –II, Mr. Dara Kavitha DCP Women’s Safety Wing, Mr. Ranga Rao, Additional DCP Traffic-I, Assistant Commissioners of Police, and Inspectors of Hyderabad Traffic Police, along with Exhibition Society members, according to the Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad.
