Hyderabad City: On January 11, 2024, Radhika Jaiswal, the Hon’ble Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Hyderabad, delivered a verdict in Criminal Case. The accused, Guggila Rama Krishna Goud, a 42-year-old driver residing in Hyderabad, was found guilty and subsequently sentenced to one month of Simple Imprisonment.
The complaint, received in English on December 20, 2020, was filed by Mr. S. Nagendra Kumar Naidu, a 50-year-old businessman residing in Hamabowli, Laxmi Nagar, Chatrinaka, Hyderabad. He reported ongoing disturbances caused by Rama Krishna Goud, who had purchased a flat in the same apartment complex three years prior. The accused had engaged in disruptive behavior, including alcohol consumption in the parking area and verbal abuse towards residents. Five days prior to the complaint, he had entered Naidu’s home, verbally abused family members, and issued threats. On December 18, 2020, Goud, wearing a police uniform without a nameplate, visited Naidu’s home and threatened them, claiming influence through a friend in the police department. The complainant sought appropriate action against Guggila Rama Krishna Goud, a cab driver impersonating a police officer.
The complaint led to the registration of a case (Crime No. 344/2020) under sections 419 and 506 IPC at PS Chatrinaka on December 20, 2020. Sub-Inspector M. Mojiram conducted the initial investigation, issuing a notice under section 41(A)(1) Cr.P.C. to the accused on December 21, 2020. The charge sheet, citing seven witnesses, was timely filed. The trial, presided over by Radhika Jaiswal, the Hon’ble Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, concluded with the examination of all seven witnesses, who provided their statements and underwent cross-examination by the defense. Considering the merits of both documentary evidence and witness testimonies, the judgment was pronounced on January 11, 2024, declaring the accused guilty and imposing a one-month Simple Imprisonment.
