BENGALURU: Bengaluru Police arrested a 33-year-old ex-serviceman for allegedly taking photographs of a student on Thursday. The undergraduate student has been interning with a TV channel and was on official duty with her colleagues near the Lake Development Authority office on Church Street, Police said. The girl noticed Senthil Kumar taking pictures of her and then informed her colleagues who then asked Senthil why he had been taking her pictures. “Senthil was asked to hand over the phone but Senthil had hesitated to give the phone, but the girl took the phone with her colleagues help,” she said. The girl alleged that there were many photographs of her. Following this the girl alerted the police officials. Senthil was later taken into custody by the Police. Senthil Kumar had claimed that he worked in a newspaper which turned out to be false, Police said quoting the girl. Police said Senthil retired from the Army in 2016 and had been searching for a job. He is a resident of Ramachandra Puram. A case under IPC Section 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman) had been booked by the Police.]]>
