North and Middle Andaman: On February 4, 2024, the Rangat Police from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands conducted a swift and efficient operation. They successfully seized a substantial amount of Lehan in the dense Kalsi forest, falling under the jurisdiction of PS Rangat.
Upon receiving information, ASI Muthu, in charge of PS Rangat, swiftly assembled a specialized team led by PC/982 Pranab Halder and PC/1696 K. Sameer. This proactive team confiscated 120 liters of illicit liquor, along with containers, assorted utensils, and timber materials used in the production process. These materials were discreetly concealed in the jungle of Kalsi, Bakultala. Subsequently, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, dealing a significant blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.
The operation unfolded under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat, with overall direction and supervision provided by Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
