Cuddalore: Under the direction of Cuddalore District Superintendent of Police, Mr. Ira. Rajaram, and with the oversight of Additional Superintendent of Police for Cyber Crime Unit, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Cuddalore’s Cybercrime Police Inspector, Cuddalore Motor Vehicle Inspector Mr. Vijay, conducted an informative session for over 100 individuals seeking driving licenses at the office’s meeting hall. The session covered topics such as the surge in cybercrime, the impact of excessive cell phone usage on children, precautionary measures to be adopted, dangers related to OTP misuse, particularly in fake job scams and fraudulent banking activities. Attendees were educated about scams like E-Challan and electricity bill frauds, as well as the rise in part-time job scams. Information leaflets on cybercrime were distributed, detailing the helpline number 1930 and the website www.cybercrime.gov.in to enhance public awareness.
