Sivagangai: On the night of 25.01.2024 five persons including Chinnappan (65/24) and his family members who were sleeping at home in Kalluvari village under Kalaiyar Kovil Police Station limits in Sivagangai district, Sivagangai sub division, were attected as the attackers went on a killing spree and looted jewelery from the house. A case has been registered under section 457, 397 of the Criminal Code of Kalayarkoil Police Station Crime No. 49/2024 and the case has been investigated. Bhuminathan’s son Dinesh Kumar (33/24) from Tenneervayal was formed on the order of South Region Police Chief Dr.N.Kannan, IPS to find the culprits in this case. It was revealed that he was involved in the crime. Along with the arrest of the accused, two other accused who assisted him in the crime have also been arrested. During the investigation, it was revealed that the above criminals were also involved in similar crimes. In this way, two women were killed and looted in Mudukurani village, and two women were killed and jewels were stolen in Kanangottai, Devakota. Along with this, when the accused Dineshkumar went near Muthurani to seize the weapon used in the incident, the accused Dineshkumar attacked the pro-police inspectors with the intention of killing them and inflicted injuries. It is also noted that 33 pounds of gold jewelery and cash of Rs.3, 00,000/-, and three two-wheelers were seized from the accused Dinesh Kumar in this incident. Also, the three accused in this case have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. South Zone Police Chief Dr.N.Kannan, IPS., and Dr.M.Durai, IPS., Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram Charakam and Mr. B.K. Arvind, IPS., District Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai personally called and felicitated and presented certificates of appreciation and prizes.
