North and Middle Andaman: In a swift and efficient operation carried out on 02.03.2024, the Rangat Police successfully confiscated a significant quantity of illicit liquor at Shyamkund forest, Bakultala.
Acting promptly on a tip, Inspector R.K Mazumder, SHO, PS Rangat formed a specialized team consisting of HC Pabitro Shikdar, PCs Subroto Banik and Pradeep Topno, The proactive team successfully seized a significant quantity of 260 liters of Lehan, along with 01 big plastic drum, 04 tins, various utensils, and timber materials used in the production process. These materials were discreetly hidden within the jungle. Subsequently, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, dealing a major blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.
The entire operation was carried out under the vigilant supervision of Shri. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
