Thiruvallur: The Election Commission of India has officially announced the election dates for the 18th Parliament. Following the announcement of the parliamentary elections, the election officials are taking various steps as the rules of conduct of elections came into effect yesterday. Flying squads are conducting intensive search in Ponneri area of Tiruvallur district. They are actively monitoring the vehicles on the roads to see if there are any cash or gifts. During the inspection, a vehicle with stickers bearing the ADMK double leaf symbol was found and it was advised to remove it immediately. Also, a DMK official was instructed to remove the DMK flag from his car as it was an unauthorized vehicle by the Election Commission. After this, the flag pole of the car was covered with a cover. The election frenzy started as the vehicle inspection of the Election Flying Squad began.
