Rachakonda: Commissioner Tarun Joshi IPS of Rachakonda Police held a review session with the nodal officers of Rachakonda to discuss security measures and precautions required for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. During the meeting, Commissioner Joshi emphasized the appointment of one Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) as the nodal officer for each assembly constituency in accordance with the election process. He stressed the careful issuance of permits for public gatherings and rallies, ensuring strict adherence to rules governing election rallies. Officers and staff were urged to familiarize themselves thoroughly with election laws and sections, providing specific instructions to lower-level staff and arranging training sessions to enhance their understanding of election principles.
The establishment of checkpoints at strategic locations for conducting armed checks to prevent smuggling of money in Rachakonda was recommended. Stringent actions were pledged against individuals making provocative or divisive remarks during party events, with a call for vigilance over troublemakers from past elections, including rowdy elements and those with criminal records. It was emphasized that any law and order issues, potentially contentious social media content, or videos should be promptly reported to higher authorities, with constant vigilance, particularly in problematic villages. Visible policing was highlighted as a priority, along with directives to expedite investigations into pending cases related to SC/ST atrocities and other relevant cases. Malkajigiri DCP Padmaja IPS, SB DCP Karunakar, Additional DCP Srinivas from the Election Cell, nodal ACPs from various zones, IT Cell ACP Narendra Goud, ACP SB Sridhar Reddy, and other officers were present at the meeting.
