Pune: The Indapur court has ordered the Pune rural police to register an offence of cheating against eight people, including former minister and senior Congress leader Harshavardhan Patil. Judicial Magistrate First Class AA Shaikh issued the order on 22 July,2017. The court passed the order after hearing a private criminal compliant filed by Jitendra Ranvare, managing director of a sugar factory. Ranvare had filed the complaint as the Indapur police were not accepting his first information report (FIR) despite being approached several times. According to the complaint, Ranvare and his family were in a dispute over the ownership of an ancestral agriculture land at Tarangwadi near Indapur. Later, the family worked out a compromise formula and submitted the required documents to competent authority. Meanwhile, the complainant stated that Patil and others sold the land without his knowledge, which amounts to cheating. Besides Patil, the court ordered to file an offence against Rajendrakumar Ranvare, Suryakant Ranvare and others.
