Bongaigaon: Acting on intelligence, the Bongaigaon District Police successfully raided the Sealdah Kanchenjunga Express. The inteligence suggested that drug peddlers were transporting a large quantity of narcotics in the general coach traveling from Silchar Rowli to New Bongaigaon Junction.
When the train arrived at New Bongaigaon Junction, a police team boarded the train and conducted a detailed search in the general coach, targeting a passenger with a black airbag who tried to escape. The suspect, Benes Ali, was apprehended by the police team.
Upon searching Ali and his airbag, the police found seven soap cases containing illicit substances and an Android phone.
Thanks to the inteligence and quick response by the police, a suspected drug peddler was arrested, and a substantial amount of illegal narcotics was seized from his possession.
Benes Ali is now in police custody and is facing charges related to drug trafficking.
