Chandigarh: After more than a month following the suspected suicide of a senior staff nurse at PGIMER, a new note was discovered in her office desk by a police team conducting cleaning on Thursday. In this note, the deceased had written about a specific doctor who had assigned her responsibilities and was causing issues for her. The victim, stationed in the X-ray department of the Advanced Paediatric Centre, had tragically taken her own life in her residence’s washroom on March 11, 2024. Subsequently, a suicide note implicating a PGIMER doctor for alleged harassment was found. The victim’s family provided another suicide note mentioning her stress over the past 10 days. A case under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code was filed based on the family’s complaint, with inquiries revealing the disappearance of several valuable technical parts from ultrasound machines under the deceased’s care. SSP Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur IPS stated that the note would be included in the investigation after being presented by the family.
