Rachakonda: On the occasion of International Anti-Narcotics Day, held annually on June 26, Commissioner Mr. Tarun Joshi IPS unveiled anti-narcotics campaign posters at the Rachakonda office in Nered Met today.
In his speech, the Commissioner warned the youth against wasting their energy by falling under the influence of drugs, emphasizing that even a single use can lead to addiction. He urged the youth to join the police in their fight against drugs, avoid drug use, and promptly report any instances of drug supply and use to the authorities. He called upon the police department, youth, and all sections of society to collaborate for a drug-free society.
The Commissioner announced that awareness programs will be organized in colleges and on social media to educate the youth about the harmful effects of drug use within the Rachakonda Commissionerate. He likened illicit drug use to a societal pest and stressed the need to eradicate it, highlighting how drugs unknowingly destroy the golden future and physical and mental health of the youth.
He assured that strict measures are being implemented to prevent the transportation and consumption of drugs in the Rachakonda Commissionerate. In addition to regular inspections at check posts, special SOT teams have arrested numerous gangs supplying prohibited drugs like ganja, opium, and heroin, and have registered strict cases under the NDPS Act of 1985 and other laws.
DCP Claims Mr.Arvind Babu, DCP SB Mr.Karunakar, and ACP IT Cell Mr.Narendra Goud also participated in the program.
