Shimla: On July 1, 2024, a conference was held at the Police Headquarters in Shimla, chaired by Mr. Atul Verma, DGP of Himachal Pradesh, to discuss the enactment of three new criminal laws: Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. The event was notable for the participation of Prof. (Dr.) Girjesh Shukla, a Professor of Law at Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, who engaged in a question-and-answer session. This constructive dialogue included police officers and all District SsP, with officers from SV&ACB joining via video conference. The discussions focused on formulating guidelines and strategies for the effective implementation of these new legislative acts.
