Nadia: On July 12, 2024, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal, in partnership with the NGO Sreema Mahila Samiti, conducted a comprehensive awareness program at Jogendra Smriti High School in Maheshpur, located in the Nadia district of West Bengal. The initiative aimed to address and educate students on critical issues such as child abuse, child labor, and the potential dangers and misuse of social media. The program was designed to equip the young participants with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize and combat these societal problems. A total of 121 students actively engaged in the program, benefiting from the informative sessions and discussions led by experts and volunteers from both the BSF and the NGO. The event underscored the importance of community involvement and education in the fight against human trafficking and related issues, highlighting the collaborative efforts between law enforcement and non-governmental organizations in safeguarding children and promoting their well-being.
