Chandigarh: Expanding on our commitment to promoting road safety, the Road Safety Cell of the Chandigarh Traffic Police organized a comprehensive awareness program for a group of 32 students from the 12th grade, along with 2 teachers from GMSS School in Sector 21, Chandigarh. The event was held at the Chandigarh Traffic Police (CTP) headquarters in Sector 23. During the session, participants received detailed insights into the various traffic rules and regulations that govern road usage, including the importance of obeying traffic signals, the dangers of speeding, the significance of wearing seat belts and helmets, and the responsibilities of pedestrians and drivers alike.
The session was designed to be interactive, allowing students and teachers to ask questions and engage in discussions about real-life scenarios and challenges faced on the roads. Visual aids, including videos and presentations, were used to illustrate the consequences of reckless driving and the benefits of safe driving habits. The officers emphasized the importance of being vigilant, patient, and courteous on the road, highlighting how individual actions can significantly impact overall traffic safety.
Furthermore, the session addressed the legal implications of violating traffic laws, including fines and penalties, to underscore the seriousness of adhering to regulations. The students and teachers were also informed about the role of the Chandigarh Traffic Police in maintaining road safety and how they can contribute to this cause by spreading awareness in their respective communities. The event concluded with a pledge from the participants to follow and promote safe driving practices, reinforcing the message that road safety is a collective responsibility.
